Why do I need to measure my ethics?

Living a more ethical life involves performing less harmful actions and practically grounding compassion in daily living. In compassion training, progress needs to benefit both the individual and others.

However, despite having good intentions, old habits and emotions may arise, which can make it challenging to measure progress with compassion training objectively. Measuring progress with ethics is an effective way to measure progress with compassion training.

It is worth noting that in Buddhist psychology and other wisdom traditions, compassion is a testimony of wisdom, as becoming wiser leads to becoming more compassionate.
